Well, I’ll try and be humble and say that what I’m about to say is really not that big of a deal.
BUT NO!!! That’d be a total lie!!! It is TOO a big deal! Dude, I had like 3 anxiety attacks because of the stupid event!
So. I’m actually proud to say that I passed my Cecchetti Gr. III Teacher’s Exam Commended. 🙂
Here are the scores you can get on your exams – for the record:
- Pass Conditional (You have to study the next level for 2 years before you can take the next exam.)
- Pass Plus
- Pass Commended
- Pass Highly Commended
Pass Commended is what I’ve always received on my Cecchetti Exams. I’ve taken the Student Grade I and now the Teacher Grades I, II and III. I think it’s pretty cool, actually. I don’t know if I’ll ever get a Highly Commended. I would think those would be pretty hard to get on a Teacher’s Exam. There’s just so much room for error in the Teacher’s Exams – you have to stop and explain things – sometimes in grave detail…. it can be pretty nerve-racking!
Anyway – I know some of you were, along with me, wondering what my score was….so….that’s it: Pass Commended! Too cool. If they gave out awards, this would be me – all proud of it…
(The lady above, however, is really not me. Much to your surprise. It is Darcy Bussell as Terpsichore in George Balachine’s highly acclaimed ballet: Apollo. I think she’s holding a lute or something…not sure… but isn’t that a great picture??)
