The following is a really great piece regarding the pregnant lesbian female who identifies herself as a man and really is the “bull” in her lesbian relationship, but she really is – as far as science and DNA (and God?) is concerned – a female… I couldn’t have said any of this better – the whole article is longer but this is the part that was the most poignant to me. Just what WILL their baby girl have to carry and deal with as she grows up being the spawn of the freak show. Maybe they should have just joined a circus act…. What about HER civil rights?

From The Uk’s Daily Mail Online:

How will the pregnant man’s daughter thank him for this breathtakingly cynical – and profitable – foray into gay rights?

Baby or political football?

Beatie’s friends in Hawaii say he seemed perfectly happy being in a lesbian relationship with Nancy and never talked about being confused about his gender. One has accused him of being about to bring, not a baby, but a ‘political football’ into the world.

It seems strange that, knowing he wanted children, Beatie had a sex change operation. By the same token, he says he wanted to be a man, but didn’t have surgery to remove his female organs.

Further evidence of this couple’s obsession with their sexuality is the name of their screen-printing business – Define Normal.

Well, in this case, a child will be born of a bearded man and his lesbian wife from donor sperm taken from goodness knows who, conceived in a DIY operation at home using a syringe that vets use on animals.

Just how do you define that?

Announcing the happy news of his pregnancy in March in an article written for The Advocate, a lesbian, gay and transgender magazine, Beatie concluded: ‘Our situation ultimately will ask everyone to embrace the gamut of human possibility and to define for themselves what is normal.’

And then this pronouncement on The Oprah Winfrey Show: ‘I have a very stable male gender identity. I see pregnancy as a process, and it doesn’t define who I am.

‘It’s not a male or female desire to want to have a child. It’s a human desire. I’m a person, and I have the right to have my own biological child.’ Says who, precisely?

How lofty Beatie sounds, asking us to embrace this Brave New World where men have babies. The funny thing – were it not so tragic – is that he sees himself as enlightened.

It’s doubtful his poor daughter will feel the same way. Playground taunts? If that’s all it is, she’ll be lucky. Who can know the emotional burden she will be forced to carry?
