The past 3 1/2 weeks have just been a flurry of activity. I am not sure I can recall the last two weeks of April and the first week of May with much detail due to the velocity at which the tornado tore through my perfectly organized and well-planned out month. The tornado flew right into May and I am sitting here, in my pajamas (which aren’t really pajamas but rather an oversized t-shirt and gym shorts that are 4 sizes too big!), blown away by the fact that Adri’s birthday is FRIDAY and I’ve only just started making arrangements for it.

*sigh*

What in the world happened???

How is that at one moment in time I was walking along the shores of Padre Island oblivious to the elements of time as we know it – back on April the 20th – and now it’s almost the middle of May?? I think between the 20th of April and today, that is the only serene moment I can recall. My escape into oblivion on the shores of the beachline were shattered after only an hour or so on the beach when it was announced that it was time to pack it up and head home – but for an hour, I could feel my stress levels slowly receding.

I should have known that was the beginning of the end. LOL.

In the past 3 1/2 weeks we have dealt with a family trip to the beach, followed by pneumonia (Hannah banana!), 5ths Disease (all of us – the kids got the rashes, Royce and I got a minor head cold!), more Dr. appts. than I care to count, school obligations (field trip, choir concert, pta meeting), a major car accident which totaled my van, my birthday which was swallowed up in the sea of stress and chaos, 3 sprained ankles, exhausting seasonal allergies, and the loss of a very promising job opportunity for me (thanks to the car accident!), a fishing trip, mother’s day, Royce’s recovery from the accident…and a nice financial set back (medical bills are in: $1450 – and that’s WITH insurance benefits!!) stress and strain between extended family members…and this Friday is Adri’s birthday, next Weds. is Claire’s birthday and then viola…the month is practically over. What the heck?!?!

Wasn’t I at the beach walking along in complete tranquility just yesterday??

*Sigh*

I would start to unwind the whirlwind but actually I have to get on the ball this morning – gotta get a shower in, get dressed, clean the kitchen, keep the laundry going, and start making all the phone calls that are listed in my “To Do” list from April 22nd. NO JOKE!!!!!!!! I have a ballet class to teach at 12noon so I better get going!!
