OMG! What has the world come to! Christians! UNITE! Stand Strong! We can win this culture war!!! This has to be the most alarming thing ever!!!

OR….maybe the world isn’t such a bad place to live if THIS is all there is to be concerned about !!! Seriously. Think about it. It’s like when our local news station spends time reporting on the latest hokey poky religious zealot who claims they’ve been healed by praying to some “face of Jesus” in the clouds or trees or … burnt toast…. some Christians get offended. I tend to think that – quite frankly – if that’s all the news channel could find to report on, maybe it’s been a good day today! Maybe we should be thankful!

Maybe we should just be thankful that TVLand is playing “OHMIGOD” instead of “WTF!”

I mean – it’s not MY God they are disrespecting! So why do I care?

Seriously though – I actually received the following ACTION ALERT in my email today and I literally LAUGHED OUT LOUD! And thought, “Oh, my GOD! What a bunch of loonies!!! ”

TV LAND flippantly disrespects God and Christians

Send an email to TV Land president Larry Jones, letting him know you are offended that TV Land so easily disrespects Christians by belittling their faith.

Dear Sarah,

The TV Land network has a new feature starting this Saturday (Feb. 16) called “OHMIGOD, That’s so 80’s weekend.” The series features movies from the 1980’s. “OHMIGOD” is an irreverent exclamation for “Oh, my God!”

The promotional ad is playing on the television broadcast and on their website at http://www.tvland.com. (WARNING: If you visit their website, the ad plays automatically.) ***WARNING WARNING WARNING DON’T LET LITTLE EARS HEAR THIS AD – NOR SEE IT – IT IS PURE VULGARITY*** (emphasis added: mine)

I can’t tell you in words how offensive it is to listen to the advertisement for this new show as they must say “OHMIGOD” five times in 30 seconds.

Disrespect for Christians and God have gone on for some time with this phrase, but now we have a network that feels it appropriate to name an entire program series with this phrase.

TAKE ACTION

* Send an email to TV Land president Larry Jones, letting him know you are offended that TV Land so easily disrespects Christians by belittling their faith.
Ask TV Land to immediately stop using God’s name irreverently.
* Please forward this to family and friends.

Sincerely,
DonDonald E. Wildmon, Founder and Chairman American Family Association
