Seriously, a question….

I have a hypothetical question: what if you, dear fellow blogger started counseling, and in the course of the visits the counselor asked for the blog name and you gave it to him/her…and that person visited your blog…would it bother you?  Speaking purely hypothetical here. 🙂 I don’t know how I would feel about it… I’m thinking on one hand it would be helpful b/c the counselor would get to know their client better…but on the other hand…it’s kinda weird….don’t you think?  Like, same thing if your Pastor read your blog…would that be weird to you?

Just curious.

  1. Thats a tough one. If that person had already proved to have great discretion it would be okay with me. I wouldn’t care if my pastor read my blog as long as he wouldn’t get offended.

  2. Yeah I guess I hadn’t thought about that…I guess I’m ok with it now. But at first…since I didn’t OFFER the information and he asked for it…it felt weird to give it out. But here I am blogging about all kinds of junk on the internet for anyone to read…so why should I care if the counselor reads it?? I don’t know – it was just a funny feeling at first. Kind of like when my Mom found my personal blog. I didn’t hide it from her – I just “forgot” to tell her about it. But now I’m used to the idea and it doesn’t bother me any more. I wouldn’t care if my pastor read my blog though – I’m sure he already thinks I’m a basket case anyway! LOL!! And I guess…where that’s concerned…so does the counselor! HAHAHAHA

  3. I don’t know that it would bother me. My ex? Yes, it still bothers me that he stalks my blog – creepy. But my pastor/counselor? Nah, aren’t you supposed to be transparent with those people anyway? This is who I am. This is the stuff that rolls through my head. If I’ve got something that I want to blog but don’t particularly want to share with all of cyberspace, I’ll password protect it.

  4. I agree with all of you. If you have trouble with someone reading it, then just password protect it. We all know that jotting things down can be very therapeutic; just maybe not “okay” for others to read. Blogging is such a great tool for so many reasons. I’m still not very savvy in using it myself; but I’m getting there…I think. Having relatives (in general) or a pastor/counselor read it? I’d have to be okay with it if I chose to put it on the international highway. Keeps me thinking about what I “really want to say, though”. 🙂
