After an AMAZING weekend at the Above Rubies retreat in Austin, I have come home to a very busy house! I just wanted to let my most dedicated readers know that I have not fallen off the face of the Earth, but rather, I’ve been too busy to stop and blog anything!

At the retreat there was an optional afternoon activity – climbing around on the high ropes course. Naturally, I signed up for it. It’s not really a dangerous activity (even if you ARE 40 feet up on a telephone pole, walking across a high-wire, and secured only by a knot on a rope…) but it was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be! My body hurt! I cut my hand on the wire. And I flew off a 40′ high zip line (the photo is hilarious – I could have been a stand in for “I Love Lucy” I think…) Anyway the funniest part about it all was that there were only 12 participants who signed up for the ropes course. There were around 300 people at the retreat. Out of 300 people, only 12 sign up for the course. Out of the 12 people signed up for the ropes course, 6 of them are from OUR CHURCH! What does that say about us??? I thought it was hilarious. Especially since the message that morning from Mrs. Campbell had been on being FEMININE! And so we follow it up with strapping on a very uncomfortable harness and climbing on poles and ropes as if we were monkeys.

I think she would have been proud of us.

I’ll post photos later.
